    Does the Atlas Jackplate stay on all the time?

    The motor doesn’t draw amps when it’s off but the gauge is powered all the time. I have mine running through a switch/breaker,you should too,it might prevent a short caused fire.

    I bought it off of eBay. All I can remember was it’s called a Ranger style resettable breaker,40 amp.

    A typical OEM install powers the gauge via the outboard ignition key.

    Think I’m gonna just tap it into the purple ignition wire. So it only turns on when I turn on the ignition

    That sounds like a smart plan. I'll be installing a new jackplate and gauge soon and plan to do the same thing.
