I have a Javelin Renegade trailer. It has mono springs. One leaf per axel. I cant seem to find the right length. I need to replace the back two. Anyone who has done this. (HELP) I have measured the springs and come up with 27 ins center to center. All I can find are 25 1/4. The back springs must be weak, they are almost rubbing the tires. Any help or advice will be most welcomed. Thanks, Rick
I replaced mine with leaf springs, get strong springs than you think. There is an issue I had to overcome. The curve the mono spring has is greater than the leaf springs so I had to use like 8'' shackle links. The part I used are not called shackles, I think they were called bar straps or something.
Take a close look at the spring hanger holes where the spring eye bolts go through on the frame. There is a plastic bushing there and probably wore out. Mine actually egged out the hole. I had to drill the holes out to 3/4'' and used a brass bushing with a 3/4'' OS Dia and a 9/16'' IS dia I think.

But, if they are almost rubbing the tires and measure 27" long, you don't want to replace them with the same free length spring.

-Does your spring measure slightly more than 27 inches, lets say 27 3/4 or so? You may have your trailer loaded, or the spring may be old and flattened out. It is not uncommon for leaf springs to measure longer than what the stock size is listed.

Thank you, I am going to remove the spring, and measure after I get it off. The mono springs I have found are 25 1/4. They are rated for 3000. So I will check it out, when off. Rick
