Son is getting married next month so I asked him what he wanted for a wedding present from his mom and I. He decided on a two day fishing trip to Toledo Bend. We both had never fished it. We used Josh Sikes of Bent Rod fishing guides from Alexandria Louisiana. Josh is a fun guide and with a cold front slipping through had to work his knowledge and skills to the max to get us on fish and keep us there! He worked hard as we had as much wind as we could manage. Caught plenty of fish and my son had a great time! Of course it cost me some money but it made some awesome memories! Thanks Josh! We also made a new friend!

Yeah! It was her request! Only upsetting thing for her is she couldn’t go also. I like this new( to be) daughter in law because she makes him come back home so she can go fishing. Has her own fishing gear. Mountain climbing hiking and rough camping is her other hobbies. He has held off marriage until he found one that enjoys things he does. He is frugal! She says he can make one exception which is their own boat. They live 30 minutes from Ross Barnett res.

Josh Sikes for a younger guy has a lot of knowledge and is careful to keep you as safe as possible. My son is not much younger than he so they seemed to click together. Catching fish is important but having a good time is more important. If I don’t enjoy being in the boat with someone,catching lots of fish doesn’t make it a memorable day. Will use him again one day if Lord willing and the creek doesn’t rise! ( too much)

Awesome bud....my son recently married again and I LOVE my DIL !!! Except for the fact that she can clean our clocks from the back of the boat.....Somehow she attracts the biggest fish and fights 'em like a pro and gets them to the boat so we can net them......

I had a great time as well! The weather through us a curve ball with very high winds on Thursday that kept us off the main lake and pretty steady rain all day Friday. We fished hard and landed on a few schools of fish. I had a great time too Mr Ronald! Thanks for coming and glad y’all had a good time. Maybe next time we can go eat at Hemphill BBQ together!
