    Caracal Jackplate Height

    Hi Guys,

I picked up my new caracal last week and have spent the last week rigging it. I am going to begin the break in process tomorrow and looking for a good starting point to set the plate to when on pad. I have a 225 Pro XS on a bobs plate with a gauge.

I'll post pics when I have completed rigging.

    Thanks for the help!

We would stay very low on a Caracal and a Bob's plate.

Yamaha engines can handle more height than a Mercury gearcase does. The lift is quite different and the nose cone pulls the front of the engine case deeper as speeds increase. The operating forces are totally different between Mercury and Yamaha. A Mercury gearcase will not function at those same heights on a Caracal.
