    trailer running lights help

Can someone tell me how to check and potentially repair trailer lights on a ranger trail trailer? My brake and turning lights work fine but completely off when just trailering down the road at night. TIA

I recently had this issue and it was a bad ground wire. I just restripped the ground wire and connected it to the bolt where it was at to begin with.

Check for a blown fuse specifically for trailer running lights. Normally under the hood.

There may be several fuses for your trailer in your vehicle. I had my left side only out and thought it was trailer for sure. When it was in a secondary fuse box in my suburban.

If you run a round 7 pin plug, I had the ground wire (the round brass bullet looking connection in the center) come un-screwed inside the connector. Took forever to figure out.

The center pin on a 7-pin connector is not the ground on any standard 7-pin configuration. It’s usually backup lights, but can be brakes.
