    Pickled Deviled Eggs

If you like pickled eggs, you will loooooove these!

AMISH MUSTARD EGGS / PICKLED DEVILED EGGS

Boil and peel 12 eggs and put into a jar (one you have a lid for)

Mix and bring to a low boil/simmer (stirring often)
    4 - 6 Tablespoons yellow mustard
    2/3 cup of sugar
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    3/4 cup white vinegar
    3/4 cup water
2 drops of yellow food coloring (optional but really makes them look nice)

Pour sauce over eggs, let it cool, put lid on the jar, and refrigerate. Once a day invert the eggs back and forth to recirculate the mix and have the eggs absorb the mix.

Do your best to not eat any until day 5. After a week it is da'bomb! Warning....you will be tempted to eat the entire jar.

I'm going to try this out for sure. I love almost anything pickled and the chickens are laying like crazy right now so I have plenty of eggs.

I’m guessing the eggs need to be completely submerged in the jar, any idea what size a jar a guy needs? I realize 12 eggs, but doesn’t look like there’s much solution? Probably a dumb question, but I fit that category.

I use a quart jar. The eggs are pen raised at my brother's, smaller than store bought. I can fit 15 in the jar. A dozen store bought easy.

This sounds good. In the process of making some. Hint? Try steaming the eggs instead of boiling. They peel easier. Tried all the salt, cold water, and vinegar tricks. Steaming works the best.

I made these today.....counting down the days!

for those who want easy to peel eggs, if you follow this I promise they are simple to peel.

First. Bring water to a boil, then grabs eggs out of the fridge, while they are still chilled. Have enough water to where it covers about 1 inch over the top of the eggs. Once you have all 12 eggs in the water, leave the heat on high for one minute and then reduce it to very low and put a cover on. Leave them for 12 minutes. Well they’re sitting for 12 minutes, prepare a water bath with ice, after 12 minutes put them in a water bath and leave them there until they get completely cooled off, 10 to 15 minutes. after that simply crack them on the counter in a few places including each end and hand rub them in your hands and the shell peels fall off. I tried all the other tricks, this one works every time. Did it that way today with good success.

How long will they last for?....if you don't eat them first. I'm going to try this and thanks for the boiled egg cooking itsahog. I've been on a keto diet and every dang time my eggs are hard as heck to peel. I'll try this one out.

If you like spice, add some sliced jalapenos to the jar and maybe a little crushed red pepper in the brine.
