    Best Shimano pitching reel?

Wanting to try some new reels for pitching. Right now using some curado k’s, curado 70’s, scorpion 70’s. Wanting to know if Chronarch, Bantam, or Metanium would be any better. This would be for mainly 3/8 to 1/2 oz baits.

I have both '20 model Metaniums and Bantams. Metanium hands down wins but the Bantams are pretty sweet too

Out of those 3, I would choose the Bantam.

Don't think this is a reel.

I would choose the Metanium but the Bantam is really sweet too.

I wish Shimano would produce a 100 or 70 size Castaic type reel. I still use Castaic reels for magnum spoons and heavy punching.

Still have an older Castaic with the thumb bar release. Love using it for flipping.

I've not found any reel that pitches as good as the old Calcutta 100. I like a really fast reel. Once those old Calcutta's are broken in, (read that half worn out), they beat anything I've tried, if you can handle a loose reel with no brakes. Have to get used to round reel. Certainly feels different.

I just brought another up from the basement today.

Rock solid reel. Nothing fancy, just a solid piece of aluminum, a few bearings, a spool and a handle. Mine are pushing 20 years old, I'd guess.
