Is this what is meant by "Airing it out"

171532323_295715188601678_2622980111199949709_n.jpg Matt Herren last week running on the intercoastal

If it is, I have done this a few times.

That’s a cool pic, wish I had a pic of myself like that. I know I’ve done it a few times myself.

Livesay said he ran 77 mph through Sabine Bay on a rough ride.
    He complimented his Ballistic boat.
BASS must not have had their helicopter around for the video.

These guys are like the bull riders.
They will pay the price for riding that bull.
But that is what it takes in their league apparently.

At 64, if that would happen to me it is by pure accident.

The first time I did, it was completely an accident. I was in the back of Honey Creek on Grand up by the highway 10 bridge. While running out I rounded the corner only to hit a three foot wake. Didn't see a big boat anywhere, but launched me pretty good. Got to my spot and the guy with me was searching around his seat. I asked him what he was looking for and he said his hat. I asked where he had put it and he replied under his butt as we ran. I told him it was long gone, because he was two foot off his seat when we hit the wake.

Airing it out is what Fast Bass Boat guys call it when they are running fast and trimming it up without blowing out the prop

I had a Hydra Sports back in the day. Seems like I was out of the water more than I was in. One thing about that boat, it seemed to always land square with the world. It flew nicely.
There’s no use being stupid if you’re not willing to show it off.

Tugs on the Red River make a large backward wake that one often doesn't see until too late. I've been there. Pretty damn scary for this normally easy going driver.

Did that one morning on Charlevoix Lake at 68gps.
Never saw another boat, but it was a big wake.

Did that once on Lake Barkley years ago meeting a barge. By the time I realized an empty barge throws a big wake it was too late. Went by loaded barges several times no problem, they didn’t make much of a wake. Lesson definitely learned!

You don’t need a degree in hydro or boat building engineering to look at that Skeeter hull and realize it’s gonna come down with a big WUMP!

i wouldn’t put my 63 yo body through that. That’s for the young and stupid

With drones easy to deploy I think the use of helicopters is going to be mostly a thing of the past.

Same here...last time I was a co and we were running back to weigh in. First time we took air no issue, just laughing at the pleasure boaters cheering us on. Second time for some dumb reason I tensed up, landing did not feel so good

As you can read form the replies, lots of boats have been there, just no pictures of them doing it.

My dad and I had a pretty good bag one day. I wanted to give ourselves extra time to get back because he hated running WFO to get back. He decided we needed to try to catch one more. We ran 70 back and hit a few waves that sent us airborne..I'll never forget the look on his face when we got back.
