    Bilge Float Switch

I have a bilge float switch that is running full time on auto once it trips. I tested by setting to auto and filling up rear compartment, the pump comes on as it should on auto, but it’s not cutting off regardless of the position of the switch. I have the float switch with stainless steel ball in it. Just curious what the issue may be? I was gonna just replace the switch but figured I’d throw it out there for other possible causes first.

If you have a multimeter, gain access to the wires for the Auto-switch and set the meter to check continuity. It should open and close when lifting or lowering the switch. If it stays closed, the switch is your problem.
