Man that thing is slick. Hopefully the Evinrude does not hinder it finding a new home.

No better boat, in my opinion, than the 396 of the original Charger line up.
    I got nothin

I would have to disagree, IMO it's the worst hull Charger has ever made.

Have you fished out of one? All my partners were amazed at the room on the rear deck. Stable, easy to drive and roomy.

I owned one for almost 4 years. It was rough and chine walked. Worked on it with raising and lower motor and different props, could never get rid of the chine.

396 likes horses to get it up on the real pad which only it and the 797 have .I don’t think 200 hp is even close to being acceptable on that boat .Be like sticking a 200 on a 596 just ain’t going to do anything good .The 396 should be rated unlimited as it’s right at 20 feet and wide that way it would carry the boat better with big horsepower and make it lift.225 pro xs is good for mid 70s on it but 250 would really wake it up and you would not need positive trim to make it fly just like a bullet doesn’t need much trim.
I guess one could order a 200 sho flash it to 300 plus and have a real lake rocket

I'm curious Jim, have you ever owned a Charger other than the 396? Also, I'm glad you're happy with your 396. I just couldn't make mine work for me

I'm currently in a 210, but yes I've owned a 180vf and 2 195's. The 396 had a 225 Optimax, it's still on the water. Mine did chine walk when I first got it, raised the motor 1 hole and that stopped. I think it's a great hull, really liked mine.

I've had a Charger in the garage since 1992. My first was a 195. I'll probably order a new 596 in a year or two, not completely happy with the top cap but can't beat the ride, storage of a 596.
