Ideas for crankbait rod similar to Loomis GLX CBR?
Can anyone suggest a really good crankbait rod? I have a couple Loomis GLX CBR’s in the 1 power (781 & 841) which I absolutely love for smaller baits & want one in a 3 power (853) but, they don’t make it in the glx anymore (they have in IMX pro & E6) & haven’t found the glx used. Any suggestions for a similar or better product as there are lots of manufacturers and my local shops don’t carry. Real world comparisons would be appreciated. Thanks! Scott

I’ve been fishing Loomis for the better part of 20 years and have fished way more of the bass rods than I have not, including 2 generations of the CBR GLXs (burgundy with recoils and the green split grip). As much as I love my arsenal, I always found the GLX versions of the CBRs overrated, or just not necessary since we are dealing with crankbaits. A super high end blank just didn’t excite me on the water, actually fishing them. That said, as a fan of the original CBRs, I would get the IMX pro version, based on what’s available.

Look at G.Loomis PR Popping rod, 845, 844. Used them for years.
