Just picked up my new boat with a Yamaha 250 SHO. Boat currently has Yamaha two gauge command link gauges installed. I'll be install a Garmin 8616xsv(J1939 port avaialbe). I'm wanting to able to bring up the custom Yamaha engine displays that I understand are available if you connect using the J1939 instead of using NEMA 2000. At the same time, I'm wanting to be able to setup custom engine pages on the Garmin as well.
I know I'll need a Garmin part# 010-12770-00(Yamaha Engine Bus to J1939 cable). Will I also need to buy a Yamaha multi-hub bus? Can someone tell me exactly what I'll need. I know hooking up at NEMA 2000 will bring data into the 8616 letting me set up a custom engine page, but will this conflict with the J1939 Yamaha engine pages? Hope I'm a making sense..
