    Any info on Lakesport boats?

I have done some searching online and they had a good reputation. Looks like a tornado took the factory in 2008 and they never reopened? I am looking at a 2004 20’ single console. All I can find online are center consoles which I would have preferred but this one is setup like a bass boat. Maybe it was special ordered or something. Anyway do any of you guys own one or had one?

I owned a dealership from 1998 to 2006. I sold Lakesport for a while. Seemed to be average quality, not as good as my Ranger line, but decent. I didn’t have any complaints about them.

Thank you for the feedback. Any idea what gauge material they used?

Looks like you could order the old brochure for that boat.

I think the 20 was .125. Take the boat out and run it before you buy. I was never happy with how the bow ran so low and took on wake/waves. Lakesport housed Excel boats for a couple years before the tornado. Excel started using all Lakesport hulls. Now Excel is owned by Glen Foreman of Mudbuddy. He designs some really nice boats under the Excel name, but some of the jon style boats still look like the Lakesport design that I am not fond of.

Thanks for the info. I purchased the boat after a 3 hour fishing/running test lol. While it doesn't ride like my dad's Allison or Bullet did, I was completely fine with how the motor picked it up and ran. Once trimmed correctly, the front came up and it handled very nice. We did not get into much boat traffic or waves so I will have to see about that I guess.
