Added a TH Marine Drain Plug.

Wasn't too hard, biggest obstacle was working around the trailer roller. Used a hacksaw blade to cut out the existing metal tube. Made 2 cuts and pulled it out. Then placed the new drainplug in the hole and pre-drilled the holes for the new drain plug since I was coming from a tube and old style drain plug. Then thoroughly coated the entire opening with a marine silicone.
Then followed the directions on the package and applied marine silicone in the channels on the back of the plate. The screws I used were #8 - 1" stainless. I also applied marine silicone to the pre-drilled holes.

I think it turned out great.

Working on the bench seat cushions.

As you can see they were pretty rough (worse after the drive home and getting stuck in a wicked storm).

So far, I bought one 4'x8' sheet AC exterior plywood, two 1-1/2"x30" Stainless Steel Piano Hinges (Lowe's @$15.98) and used my Dremel with Reinforced Cutting Wheel to cut them down to 24". Then I bought a Titanium 3/16" drill bit (like $5 at Oreilly Auto) to drill out the holes so they matched up to the existed stock Rivet holes. I used 3/16" - Long (1/2inch grip) Aluminum/Aluminum rivets I got from Tractor Supply ($6.99/box of 50). I got some Marine Vinyl from JoAnns' Fabric store for 19.99/linear yard and I also got some 3" Polyurethane 96oz foam that is $49.99 a yard of 3"x24". I didn't have an official foam cutter so I used a bread knife that worked pretty good. Also, used some Gorilla spray adhesive on the board and the foam.

Tomorrow should have the fabric stretched and installed and have new bubble trim ordered for the under-seat storage.

So I started to look at a graph mounting solution for the front bow/deck area.

My buddy loaned me his Panther mount and a Comfortroll Mount to see if they would fit. Nope. Not without some creative engineering. So decided to go the RAM mount way. Holy cow that 115 is huge.

Next came time to address the wiring in the bow. Not exactly what I wanted to see when I opened it up.

So, since most of the switches/gauges were non-functional or broken I decided to clean it up. I decided all I needed was the trolling motor receptacle, trim switches and a way of keeping the graph wiring clean. Obviously, I was going to need some new panels, but alas, it is an 88 so they are not made anymore. Time to let my brain do what it does best.

Getting ready to start working in the bilge and found a couple things. Yes, some wiring needs done there as well.

Noticed my tank sending units/mounts are different. Anyone know how to address this or noticed anything else. See pics

Edit: Already called BCB and was informed that they no longer stock my sending units. My sending units have the glass dome and use a wire and cork float. Is there a way to convert to a new style sending unit?

I cut new dash panels out of lexan for my bow panels. I used the old ones for patterns and left out what I didn’t need. You can paint the back and it turns out pretty good.

I made mine similarly. I used Lauan because it is naturally resistant to moisture. I used flat black spray and applied 4 coats on all sides. I also used to the old panels for patterning and it made it quick work. As an added unexpected side benefit is the panels are super light. I know its not a huge deal but it was just something that wasn't expected.

The new sending units will work fine in that system. The original sending units usually are just the capsules failing also, though on an older rig the floats absorb fuel. New WEMA or replacement Rochester would be fine.

Out with the old in with the new.

Rear keel roller was a 10 inch roller and was able to use a 11 inch roller shaft. But the center and front roller were 10 inches but needed 11 1/2 inch roller shaft that I couldn't purchase. I went to tractor supply and bought 1 - 5/8inchx36inch zinc plated solid rod and 2 packages of axle nut caps. I cut the rod to 11 1/2 inches and it installed without any further issues.

Today or tomorrow should be wiring in a new 4 prong male plug and 4 prong female 24vdc receptacle. Unfortunately will have to remove bow panel and cut to fit the new receptacle but it is minor inconvenience.

Dum question: Finding a 60 amp breaker locally has been futile. Can I run a 100amp breaker instead on my old Maxxum TM? I can get them at Oriellys.

My Maxxum has always used a 50amp breaker (the little grey square one with reset button)...most marinas have them. Install it close to battery to protect the wiring and TM.

I ended up with a 50 amp manual reset breaker. I'll have to take a pic later as it has been down-pouring here today and I have been unable to get out on the boat to work.

But so far, I got a 50 amp manual reset breaker, new switches, a new bilge float and bilge pump (turned out good as I noticed a livewell tube wiggle so I will be resealing it), started to work on the wiring that had been cut. So far I have repaired the main ground (it was 1 of the 6 ground wires I found cut in the bilge area), got the Nav/Anchor lights working as they should, replaced and got the master power switch working, and got a USB switch style working as well as 2 lights replaced (rear deck with an LED no t switched at panel) and replaced the courtesy light with a LED style light and switch to control both.

I got 2 of the TH Marine Automatic Aerator controls. I am gonna try to use a different switch and original panel instead of their mount plate.

Some pics of the the work I am doing.
