Mercury Revolution 4 blade vs Fury FOur Blade

I am wondering what the difference is between these two props beside the Rev 4 only having 4 PVS holes and the Fury 4 having 8 total. Looking to improve holeshot on my boat (2004 cougar FTD w/ 225 Optimax) from the current fury 25 3 blade.

Blade shape, rake, diameter, flared barrel on fury, pitch progression, etc... I think the Rev4 with added pvs holes could work well for many bassboat applications.

I suggest you try a Bravo1 XS or Razor4 XL.

Merc considers the Rev 4 basically a Tempest Plus 4.

thanks I am looking for a Bravo1 XS...I currently run a 25 P Fury 3 blade close to limiter @ 70 MPH (full fuel, full tackle, full livewells) so would i need to find a 26 bravo or 27? Optimax rev limiter is 5750 as its the non pro xs model

Does the Bravo prop like to be run higher than a Fury in general?

From my experience with cougars and various props the 25 Fury is the best after it has been reworked, in stock form they are no all that great. My reworked Fury runs as high as a reworked Bravo I, same hole shot or better and two mph faster. The bravo overall was very nice Prop, easier to drive, less chine walk, less torque steer, lighter steering feel, If I could have got the speed I would have kept running it. Did not like the Fury 4 at all (chine walk was terrible with a light load) Promax, just could not get the hole shot right or good grip at low speeds running those 3ft plus waves, slipped to bad., When vented to get hooked up the hole shot took twice as long as the Fury. Tempest about 2mph slower and poor hole shot compared to the reworked Fury
I have a 2003 cougar, ran this prop with the same motor as you have to 5800 RPM 75 mph (rev limiter had been raised to 6,000) Currently have a 250 PXS 6250 79 mph on good days at low elevations
