Soon to be owner of a stroker FINALLY!

I have wanted one for a very long time 21 years or so. I have owned 3 bullets and a Allison so I’m not new to performance boats. I have lurked here for a long time. So I have done some post searching here. Thanks.

    Questions

    1. Is a 24v trolling motor enough?
    2. where is the in hull transducer located?
    3. What prop would be good for fishing at 3000ft 250xs with sporty 16 inch set back with detwiler

24v 80lb thrust has served me well.
The puck is underneath the center glove box.
    Gear ratio on the lower?

My Stroker drives the best with a Mercury Pro Max. I have had 6 or 7 different props and this one works the best for me. The pitch will depend on the gear ratio. Likely a 26 or 28p will work.

Props are a personal thing. Not everyone will agree
The ones I like for fishing and loaded are
29p Max 5. Very expensive but by far the best handling
    30p Pro Max also fastest
    32p bravo. Least favorite slowest

    motor 250r 4 stroke 1.75 sport master
420 lbs of meat (me and wife) 2 power poles, step to front deck and storage compartments full of tackle

    Congrats!!!

1: Yes, 24volt 80 pound thrust trolling motor is good
2: Factory location is under the glove box. When running it will not read depth due to the hull being out of the water
3: Depends on gear ratio, how much you're willing to spend and what you want to achieve. Anything from a 26 -30 pitch

I run at about sea level most of the time and when I go to northern California, Shasta is at about 1000 feet. I run a 30 Performer most of the time. I have both a 4 blade BC and a 3 blade that has been worked. I also run a 28 Performer 3 blade at Shasta. Bit better hole shot at that elevation. Motor is a 2005 250XS with sportsmaster with 1.62 gears. I have tried 28 and 30 Bravo's and they run good but I like the performers better. Best speed with both 30 Performers is 94.8.

Dean may chime in as he runs at 4000 ft elevation.

I may run one of the heaviest strokers out. When I had my 250xs with 1.62 I was running a 28p promax, Ultrex 112 4 batteries total, 2-12in helix graphs on the dash , 1 10in helix, Garmin 9in on the bow, minn Kota charger, and loaded with gear. 28 was about all I wanted to run for a fishing prop

I also run heavy. When I ran mine with a 250XS I liked a 28" Performer 4 BC. It was a good and fast fishing prop. A 28" Bravo was my best fishing prop. Full tourney load, full tank, and like me, a 220= lb partner, and run low to mid 80s anytime, at 1070 elevation.
With my 300XS, I run a 29" Bravo. My 300 didn't like the performers. With the 300 same full loads on the limiter in low 90's with the 29" Bravo.
For me, 24 volt trollers are inadequate. I've run 36V dead with group 31's before I converted to lithium batteries.

Curious, what about the 28BC did not work well with the 300?

Holeshot. The 300XS has part of the exhaust gas going out a port above the prop, and not through the prop. So the overhub didn't vent enough for me to spool up quickly. And if you are not spooling up a P3 or P4, those big blades bite hard. A 250XS has a lot more bottom end grunt.

Congrats on your new to you Stroker. I live and run at 4300 ft elevation. I have a stock 300xs/Sporty. I run both gear sets, the 1.62 when I am trying for top end speeds and the 1.75 for most other times. As far as props, I run anything from a 26p to a 32p depending on how I am loaded and what I am doing. If you are running at 3000 ft elevation with 1.62 gears a 26 like Paul suggested should work well for fishing. Do you know what the rev limiter is on that motor?
