    Real world expectations???

I've got a 2008 21xrd. 250 pro xs with tourqemaster LU. Ultrex TM. 8' PP blades. Manual JP. lithium batteries. I run what I consider normal fishing load. What are the real world loaded speed numbers I should be seeing and what would you guys advise for setup to reach the numbers? I haven't had a chance to check engine height. Right now I'm running 80 with this setup. Just wanted to make sure I'm getting as much out of boat possible.

That sounds pretty solid to me with the dual power poles. I would think your batteries are helping that number some. If you drop the power poles you will gain more MPH. Some guys on here may give you a idea on mph gain. Just curious what gears and prop?

Not sure what gears. 28P SQX four blade. I'm thinking about finding a used 45" to replace my 52" TM. The 45 is a few pounds lighter and I know that makes a big difference with the weight at the bow on a 21 with 250hp. Gonna try to check PTP in the morning.

If you are running 80 with that set set up, it is set up perfect and you need to leave it alone. The TM lower will most likely have 1.75:1 gears. You don't say what RPM gives you 80 but, just guessing 5800 for that motor gives you 9% slip at 80 mph. Don't touch it.

5900 rpm via smartcraft. I figured it was about as good as it gets for this setup. My problem is when was working at a dealership ( Skeeter yamaha dealer) we traded in a boat just like this one with no poles and 300xs and I used it for a few months and got used to the way it would perform. Of I know this setup will never be close to that one.

Need to be 3/4” below the pad with the torque master!

Yep, 2” below is probably creating too much drag. He may try raising it a little at a time to get it right.

Not every setup needs to be 3/4” below pad. If he’s running 80 like that with poles and big ultrex he’s just fine.

I raised it to 1 1/2 PTP. gonna try it tomorrow and see what changes be it good or bad. If it helps I'll raise it in 1/4 " increments and if it hurts it I'll lower it back to 2".

Watch water pressure close especially in turns. Honestly didn't know you could run a TM that high (3/4 inch).

Ran it today but between the guys trolling in the middle of the lake and boat traffic couldn't give it a good test.

I have the Torque Master 2 on my 250 pro xs, and I can run as little as 1/2" below pad and still keep low 20's water pressure. I have a 21 xrd no poles, but I do have a heavy Ultrex on the nose. Max recall of my graph from this last weekend was 83.9 mph, 28 pitch Bravo, 5950 rpm. I was running low on gas tho, 1/8th of a tank or less.

Busting 80 with that setup is about right. I have the same boat with an old Yamaha on it, and that’s about what they do. Unless your Tim Powell......he had one that would roll 87 loaded LOL

Im surpised you are even getting 80 out of that setup. I had the same boat and same motor for 6 years. No power poles and best i ever ran was 81. Most of the time 76-77 was the best i could do running by myself. I wouldnt change anything either. It wont go any faster im guessing.

Update on results after raising engine. I still haven't been able to test it. I fractured the bone where my rotator cuff attaches a few weeks ago and still can't get much use out of shoulder so may be a couple more weeks before I get to run it. I will definitely update when possible.

Oh crap. Man that stinks. That probably means you cant wash and wax your Bullet either. Just kidding man. I hope that you heal up fast and get back at it. I am really wanting to know how your rig responds to the adjustments.
