Picked up the Boat from Storage!

Picked up the boat from storage yesterday and started loading it back up! Sure am happy to have Bill (My boats name is Bill) back in the garage.

Will be installing a new heading sensor here in the next week or so!

I am hoping ice off in a couple weeks!

It’s an exciting time here in the frozen north, brought mine home before the snow came in. Been working on a polish coat after work all week! Hopefully in the next month or two will see some nice weather

Hope is in the air! We're up to a little over 12 hours of daylight Local ponds are quickly icing out. Geese are fighting.
There was a time that I didn't fish but I cannot remember it.

Starting to see open water near the shorelines on many larger lakes around here. Shouldn't be long until we can get out.

Pulled mine out of storage over the weekend and started the long, laborious process of changing out all of the electronics and trolling motor and running all new wires for everything. Major overhaul but needed. Got about 50% through it. Hope to finish it all this weekend.

I have not look, probably google it easy enough, but is the Minnetonka crappie tournament on this year?

Man it was brutal. Earliest I've been out targeting bass so I didn't have a ton of expectation. Found cribs in 8-15 fow with fish on them and threw jigs, worms, dropshot, cranks, bladed jigs, everything at them and they wouldn't eat. Moved up shallow on the northern shoreline where the sun hits and got nothing. Hit all the rock I could find (smallmouth in this lake) and nothing. All I had was a follow from a big muskie and he didn't want it either. HA. Needless to say I've been staying closer to home and crappie fishing. I'll go out again in the next week or so and get after it again.

    Still, great to be out.

As much as I hate having fishing "seasons"...I definitely don't want to go bass fishing this early! Mid April is about as early as i'd want, at least when we get a continuous warming trend. Sure, there's bass to be caught, but fishing in water that's in the 40's really sucks! That's just me though!!!

Got a new trolling motor and Lithium batteries to install this weekend, and some various wiring upgrades. Should be ready to roll next weekend!

I had better luck with a JB and a rattle trap a few weeks ago. I think it's a bit early for a jig bite yet.
