Main street renamed to Forrest Wood Drive

In 50-plus years of boatbuilding, fishing, guiding, ranching, conservation, and promotions, Forrest Wood and his wife, Nina, built a road from Flippin, Arkansas, to the entire world. It’s an accomplishment not lost on the town as Flippin’s Main Street was today named Forrest Wood Drive.

The proclamation is just one of dozens of events marking the city’s year-long Centennial celebration. The town was incorporated in 1921 after being settled by the Thomas Flippin family in 1821.

That is an awesome tribute to a very good man. I met him twice (1986 Bass Master’s Classic & 2019 Bass Master’s Classic) and both times he was just so nice to me and everyone who gathered around this legend of bass fishing. Love his hat on the sign too. Great touch.

That's great. Really miss the family tradition that used to be Ranger. All that passion moved across town.
