Same Same in the Johnson City Bristol area. My former sis in law is a chemical engineer. Her first job out of Vandy was at Eastman. She HATED working there and currently works at an ammo manufacturing place in the area. Eastman was the place to work years ago.

The difference is !!! If you enter Mexico ILLEGALLY and they catch you, unlike our Country that welcomes you with open arms. Mexico will through you in jail and you'll never be seen again. Watch what you wish for. Maybe we should learn from Mexico? Hmmm..

The problem with the big 3 in Detroit is the younger work force, the older guys took pride in building automobiles. Now it’s a different culture, I’m not surprised....

Yeah, right because those cars from the 70's and 80's were such quality automobiles. And that was the generation that was getting $30+/hour to hammer hub caps on with full medical and retirement after 30 years.

I guess we can't blame NAFTA anymore, seeing that it was replaced by pretty much the same thing and lies a couple of years ago. Did Toyota start making the Tacoma in Mexico yet, it was announced shortly after the agreement was signed, this should ease any "crisis" at the border by creating more jobs in Mexico

It sounds like $ 140 billion of fords debt is for their car financing division. I assume that debt gets paid by the loan holders of Ford vehicles. I have a five year loan from them at 0 %, and won’t miss a payment (I never checked, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the rate changes if I am late on a payment). I hope they keep healthy, I have a Ford Ranger and really like it. I would buy another. But I have never bought a vehicle assembled outside the US, and won’t start now.
I think companies are waisting billions on developing autonomous vehicles. I wonder when the CEOs will realize they’ve been bamboozled by the engineers.

What? I know a guy retired from FORD who would drink so much at lunch his supervisor would tell him to go home, his response - I will as soon as I sober up enough to drive!
