    Endurance tire rating

I am looking at the Goodyear Endurance st 225/75-15 with a E class load rating of 2833 lb.
    It has strong side walls.
Anyone use this tire for 21’ bass boat and tandem torsion axle?
I am considering replacing my 18” low profile tires for 15” wheels and endurance tires.
    any input welcome

You might have a tough time fitting those in the space... Why not get the 215/75/14 Load Range "D"?

The 225/75/15 endurance are 1” taller than what I have now.
I have 3 “ of clearance with what I have now, tire to finder clearance.
    i have some 15 wheels

E rating is capable of 80lbs pressure... You can still run 50lbs if you want to soften the ride.

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of even going with an E load tire?....I'd rather get the D load, and run it at 60-65 psi, than run an E load at an under inflated 50 psi, and stress the sidewalls on it......????

Air pressure is what carries the load. So there is not much difference running 50 or 60 pounds in each tire. The load range E is capable of more than you need. If you only need 60 pounds to carry your load, a load range E tire at 60 pounds is not considered under inflated.

By the way, my 1 ton van has load range E tires. Only 50 pounds go in the front, and 80 pounds go in the rear tires. Same tires on all four corners

My 21' with tandem trailer came with C rated tires and rode on C rated tires for 20 years with no problems. It is now on D rated tires only because the Endurance is not available in a C rating. I also use the inflation guide for that tire created and published by GY, although I will admit to adding a few pounds of pressure. I can not think of a 21' bass boat that would require or benefit from using an E rated tire.

Make sure you check your wheels for rated pressure and install the appropriate valve stems for pressure you plan on running.

I made the switch to 15” wheels and endurance “E” rated tires. I am running the tire air pressure at 65 psi. I have 2 1/2” of tire finder clearance with about 350 miles on new tires. All seems well.

This^^^^^ is the end of the story! Like Mike has said it is the pressure that carries the load and the MFG produces inflation charts for a reason, tires are inflated according to the load they are carrying. Otherwise everybody would just run the max pressure on the sidewall and wear out the middle of the tires and get a crappy ride, {some actually do this!!} CJ
