Headed down to gaston for the first time. What’s the main forge for bass? What kind of shad?

Pretty sure its gizzards and threadfins. Throw a jerkbait and a swimbait at main lake and secondary points and you should catch some fish. If its muddier go up shallow with a chatterbait and a crankbait. Cover water the fish should be there.

There are also some very large rocks in some stretches along the shore line. Just got to get out and look for them. Spots and rocks go well together

Look for rock bluff walls preferably on points on the main lake. They are all around but some are better than others.

If after spots, stay between the Eaton ferry bridge and the lower dam. Also fish all bridges such as lizzard and peahill as well as Eaton ferry bridge
