After running the 24 Fury to get a baseline, send it off to Ronnie Gilbert to get it right, he does wonders with that prop, You will not regret it

I just purchased a new 25 Trophy Plus. Waiting for the blow out ring. Hopefully get a test run this week.
I'm currently running a 24 Fury 4 worked by Ronnie. Its great from Hole shot to top end. Waiting to see if the Trophy will be the back up or permanent.
    Will update.

Im curious about this set up. I run a trophy on my 88 caracal. I always thought that it performed well.

I ran the Trophy Plus today.
I was impressed with the handling and performance.
The Hole shot was not quite as quick as the 24 Fury 4, but I will play with the plugs to get the RPM's up a bit more.
My testing was done during a tournament, so live wells were full, where the they were empty for the 24 Fury 4.
The lake had a pretty good chop, and the Trophy really made it easy to drive. The Prop ran 70.9 at 5500 RPM's. Most important, it didnt require the amount of trim the Fury does. This allowed the bow to run lower making the ride smoother and less chine. It really has a lot of stern lift.

Acceleration goes to the Fury, but not by much.
Keep in mind, with live wells empty Hole shot, top speed and acceleration would have been better. I wasnt throwing my bass limit out to check it.

I will be sending this prop to Ronnie for some fine tuning and will be my permanent prop.

Thank for the update Cajun! This is good to kno for sure. I may even look at a trophy later on. For what i got this prop for i couldnt go wrong. Where i fish there was just simply still to many floaters to get a WOT run. Tho i can tell im gna like the 24 fury 3. Though as i stated earlier I'll send it to Ronnie for some tweaks. I been still chasing these white perch. I figure after that is over I'll send it to him. I keep a update on my performance.

Well at 50 or 55 mph.the backend of the boat darts to one side as if the prop is loosing bite. My 25 done this at one time and i corrected it with motor height. Same motor height as the 25 fury. Seems i remember BCB saying to either go up or down with the motor height. Is it UP or DOWN to resolve the backend dart. Trying to get a WOT run to get Ronnie some baseline number so i can send this 24 fury 3 to him to tweak it out

    Hey Jimmy

I believe I answered your question on the Owners forum. JIC, You need to raise the JP a bit.
I'm not sure what the correct term is, but I call it prop walk.

Keep us updated on your progress.

I finally got to run the Trophy on smoother water.
It hit 72.7 mph right at 5700 RPM. I was really surprised. Very close to the 24 Fury 3.

Similar experience as I have had with my Caracal and the Trophy plus. A slower hole shot is its only weakness. I have all solid PVS plugs and an exhaust ring. I am planning on replacing a couple with small plugs.

If I could get a trophy to load on the trailer without bogging down it would be my permanent prop on my Eyra. I always loved my trophy's handling and the top end was always right there with the fastest props I've run. On my pantera it was my best. The 25" and 27" trophy's Seemed to be the better pitches. I know they work great on the 2 strokes but It's nice to hear that it sounds like they are working with a few of the 4 strokes.

Raised the motor .125" no help raised another .125". No backend dart. So raised a total of .250". Run the boat with conditions i had to 68 mph. And 5600 rpms definitly some more in it. I like the prop. But not much difference in the 25 fury. Though i believe Ronnie can help the 24 a good bit. I have a couple more perch trip then I'll send it to him. Im thinking this 24 will hit 5800 rpms., meaning i dont get WOT enough that it will hurt. Test yesterday included Full fuel, all tackle, full wells(30 crappie), pretty good chop on the water.

Have not measured actual PTP yet. Maybe this evenin or next week im going to measure it the way BCB does as im curious how it compares to the way i normally do this process

I figured about a 1/4 move would get you where the backend would not dart.
Ronnie can make that 24 Fury run and handle like you need it to.
I bet live wells empty will put you bumping the Rev limiter.

Guys I ran a 25p Trophy Plus (with blow-out ring, and two holes open, two holes large plug) on my 2015, 2016, and 2017 PII with 200ProXs. All averaged 72-73 (about 1-1.5mph slower the my Gilbert worked 25Fury3). But the ride and handling was fantastic. I am running a 23p Trophy Plus (Blow-out ring and all holes open) on my 2020 PII w/ 200 ProXS 4s. Running 70-71 (again 2 MPH slower than 23p Fury3), but the lift and ride is wonderful. Hope this helps, as I like the Trophy Plus. Ran the original Trophy Plus after a conversation with Rick Pierce about the PI and handling. Been running one ever since and swap to the Fury every so often.

Steve, what gas tank configuration do you have, 2 stroke or 4 stroke, rpms at WOT, elevation of your lakes?

I just measured my Caracal. JP being flush equals 3.5" below pad measured the way most do at BBC. I know that BCB has another method regarding engine height explained here...https://basscat.com/forum/groups/bas...gine-height-2/
