Who is the top Merc guy in the Jax area these days? Did a search on here and read recommendations but they were from a few years back.

Isle of palms marine in green cove, Paul and Jeff will get it right. Governors creek marine in GCS is good as well, I needed a starter on my opti last year and had a great experience, boat was in and out within 3 days and they kept it inside for me, with great pricing.

Agreed, Jeff and Paul will get you squared away, they have been my motor guys for 11 years now, they will take care of you. BTW They are awesome with Yamaha's as well.
