    Grand in April

I have a tournament on Grand early next month...just wondering what to expect for conditions, baits to use?

    All help appreciated!

    Thanks

I’m supposed to go down next week Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Looks like cool and rain.

I’m having second thoughts about making the drive.

Grand above normal is awesome just head to the flooded willow trees. That is if you can catch it in that 30 second window before the GRDA drops the bottom out of it.

So water appears to still be up so I am guessing this "awesome" April means jigs and spinnerbaits right into the willows and bushes?

At the current elevation there is not a lot of willow and bush in the water. Really 748 and above is when you see that. I fished a tournament at 750.00 flipping bushes like 2 years ago- which was the winning pattern- and I didn't get a bite all day, so you gotta be in the right area. Now granted I stink so you gotta factor that in as well.

Water got as high as 56 degrees on Saturday, but was muddy in most places, I suspect by the time you get there a few spawning fish will come into play.

Checked a few ramps on North Ft. Gibson today. Nothing open or usable.
White horn cove Marina (open but no ramp usable) Snug Harbor(open but no ramps usable) Bluebill Point-closed, Flat Rock Creek-Closed.
Saw one boat on the lake.
How do you get a bass boat on the lake?
On the other hand, plenty of big logs rolling down the lake-best to find another lake.

The COE is worthless, they have the capacity to let more go, I guess its to not slow down barge traffic.
