I keep my livewells functional even though I don't fish tournaments. I keep fish if I find a school of white perch or a bass goes belly up.

Yes, just did a cap-off restoration on the boat. Did not re-plumb it or drill holes in the transom for it. I added some insulation around them, too try and turn them into coolers.

I tried to do this in my Nitro but anytime I get water on the back deck from rain or watersports/swimming it drains into the livewell and gets everything wet. So I have used it a bit, but not much for storage.

I keep mine as a livewell weather I need it or not. The next owner of this boat may want to have a functional livewell.

no, you never know, a good charity tournament might come along and for no other reason I keep it for resale value, so I do run it and clean it to keep it operational

    Not in this boat.
But I did that in my last boat. At 17'5" I liked the extra storage. Accidentally hit the fill switch one day. So it filled up, and water eventually came out the top. I was "smart" enough to cap the drain. Bit didn't pull the fuse for the pump. I was lucky nothing important got wet.

I fish tournaments and probably should reconfigure the livewell. Lol!

Rear livewell holds the ice for the walleye and the front livewell stores the wet drift sock when I run from spot to spot.

I guess I would ask, are there fishermen that fish and never keep a fish to eat?

Nope. The old girl is slow enough without me finding new places to stuff in more tackle.

Livewells...i thought that was an odd shaped toilet! In all seriousness though, I used it as storage once and promptly filled them on accident, so never again. I keep them open and use them for the occasional charity tournament.

Yes, my Ranger has front and back live wells, I never used the front even in tournaments. I capped off the front water lines and now use it for storage. If anybody is familiar with the front live well on a 373 it is huge, provides great storage.
