Where will the next Ohio record bass come from?

I say out of a gravel or quarry pit in southern Ohio. I have fished the pits in West Carrolton/Miamisburg/Moraine for 30 plus years and have caught a 7 pound smallie/two 8 pound LM/a truck load of LM over 5 pounds and numerous bass estimated over 10 pounds have been seen on the bed in spring there. I say pits and quarries.

Kiser Laker. They are making it a slot lake 14-20 go back and only 1 over 20 per fisherman. 12->14 keep 2.

</td></tr></table> Slot limit has been tried many times before,,,,,,,,,,,,,never produces monster bass it seems(quality yes but rarely monsters). Need the right type water/cover/conditions,,,,,,,,,,,,normal lakes get hammered and pressured. Most Pits/private ponds/quarries dont. Some lakes in Ohio had a slot for years and all you caught and still catch now are 12 -14 inch bass. Actually Cowan produces a few 5 pounders from time to time now but very low pressure since CC went in in the late 70,s

There was just an article posted on OGF about some guy catching a 10lber out of the AEP ponds..............that'll be my guess.

Either that or a private pond. My cousin has a 1 acre pond that's absolutely loaded. I've caught a 6-7lber out of there before - of course this is a 'guestimate' since I had a dead battery in my scales.........

I would say a pit if it is caught legally to qualify............
I got arrested in Germantown for fishin Morains pit ( old weidle) off rt 4.
I have caught some dandys float tubing the pits on franklin Trenton, Butter st , and west carollton farmersville.
My biggest is a 7.15 from franklin trenton pit.
I think Rocky will have the potential also if they leave the grass alone and these fish keep eatin the .....???........................... Well they keep eatin what they are eatin

I think Apple Valley lake has the potential to produce the next state record largemouth!
Crystal clear, lots of grass, and plenty of depth, at places over 60 foot.
    Plus its private too

Yes they both can! I am going to try to fish 2 places they could be broke at this weekend too!
SM = of course Lake Erie
LM = the watson gravel pits in Middletown....Got a buddy that works there so it would be legal.

SM, with Lake Erie there is always chance for the record.

LM...I dont know, but I doubt it will come from a public body of water. To much pressure, no management by ODNR for the green fish and down in my neck of the woods a lot of them end up in the frying pan. Rocky Fork is one of the best inland lakes in my opinion, but that place takes a beating.

Now, a decent private water lake, there is a chance.
