    250 pro xs overheating help

I've got a freshly rebuilt 2013 mercury 250 pro xs dont have the serial number handy at the moment. This is a repower for me its replacing a 2000 mercury 225 EFI. So my boat has the original 4 alarm gauge. So after a 10min idle today in 57° water the temp light is coming on it is NOT beeping and the alarm definatly works. I'm getting around 2-3 psi at idle and a good 18-20psi at 3800rpm. Any ideas what might be causing this light to come on it did go out after I got on plane it will also come on everytime i put it in reverse as well. But again it wont beep just the temp light

20 psi sounds high at 3800 would cds scan for cause of faults

Also- usually don't use (or recommend) the old warning light gauges for these later model engines (Smartcraft Instrument is a much wiser choice).

Be sure to update with the serial number when you come back.
