Anybody put Backup Lights on their Trailer

I'm not talking about the cheesy ones that just turn white when you put in reverse, but some nice led pods or something that will illuminate the ramp when it is pitch black. Was thinking I could either wire them up to reverse or use one of my upfitter switches in my F250 or something to turn them on. Seems more and more trying use ramps in the middle of nowhere, no lights on ramp or anything is anxiety filled.

Yes. I bought submersible driving lights from amazon. LED and super bright. Love them so far. I used waterproof butt connectors and heat shrinked to be safe.

I share your frustration and I tried two other backup lights before installing these Alpenias from Walmart. Finally got something bright enough to work.
you will notice that I have the combination Tail/Turn/Stop/Reverse LED lights on the trailer. They are bright enough to let someone at the bottom of the ramp know I am backing up. LO”

Whatever choice you make, they have to illuminate 2-3' to the side of the trailer or there worthless.

Ebay purchase. Fully submersible. Been on there 6 years now. No issues. I can now see a couple feet on each side of the trailer unlike the Ranger back up "indicator" lamps that did nothing.

I bought these from etrailer https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Lig...UL111CFPG.html and have not been impressed. They just aren't bright enough. Previously I had used these "KAWELL Slim 18W LED Light Bar 6.2 Inches 6500K Waterproof Off Road Led Work Flood Light Bar" which I bought from Amazon and the brightness was great. Mounted one on each side under the trailer bunks. Really lit up ramps great. The first set lasted about a year. The second set less than that before I went with the Optronics. If anyone has something that is submersible, and has stood the test of time please post it up. The LED Optronics trailer lights have been great. Going 4-5 years and not a single problem.

Diode Dynamics, sport combo pod. 1 would be plenty bright, 2 would look like a set of headlights. 8 year warranty with a water proof rating to 1.5 meters for a half hour. Not cheap but as with everything, you get what you pay for. CJ

I drilled a hole in the outside bunk support and mounted them with the bolt that comes with the lights. Then connected them to the existing back up light wires.
