300R Gap on Clamp/Swivel Bracket for Motor Toter?

I am going to upgrade to a 300R 4 stroke and want to order a motor toter support for trailering. I was looking at the DD26 Fishing Mean Mount motor toter but the standard size does not fit the 300R 4 stroke. I need the interior gap measurement on the clamp/swivel bracket to provide to DD26 Fishing so that they can modify the standard size motor toter. Hoping one of you guys with a 300R can provide that measurement.

Would be interested in any other recommendations for motor toters, specifically for the 300R 4 stroke, because the gap on that motor is apparently different from the other motors.

I too had a DD-26 toter for a short time and haven’t heard that the 300R is different than the other 4 strokes. I now have a Tote-Rite STR-8 and feel that it sits at a better angle than the DD-26 & it has arms that hold the motor straight so you don’t have to use steering clips. Tim Powell recommended it to me.

Dave Davis at DD26 indicated that the 300R gap is wider than the other engines. The DD26 website says that the standard size motor toters are not compatible with the 300R and Verado engines.

I don't have the DD26 as I opted for the STR8..
The way I understood-----DD26 also makes one specifically for the V8's as they are different from the 2 strokes.

If they are referencing verados maybe they are talking about the 300r’s with the HD & AMS brackets. The 3 ram trim light duty brackets are the same as the Pro XS’s.

I used a motor mate on mine. The same one I used on my 300XS. Just have to shave the end caps for it to work. 5 minute modification.

The ‘gap’ u refer to will be slightly different with my toterite str8 than for the dd26. If you are getting a light duty 3 ram trim 300r you can rest assured the dd26 for the ProXS’s will work as I had one in the beginning but I highly recommend the toterite str8 as it supports the motor at a much better support angle & location & it eliminates the need for steering clips.
