Tandem Axle Trailer Question

I am planning on doing the Dexter EZ Flex equalizer upgrade when I get the boat out of storage and want to order the parts before hand. Does anybody know the spacing between the axles? There is a 33" kit (K71-652-00) and a 35" kit and want to make sure I get the correct one. Thanks.

The 33" is the one you need and I highly recommend this kit, makes a world of difference. Just did my 2020 Z21 a few weeks ago and my cousins 2017 Z21. Just use two floor jacks if you can, makes it way more manageable. Good luck!

I did this upgrade over the weekend. I noticed that one of the bushing holes in one of the springs was larger than it should have been. Whoever built the trailer put a fatter plastic bushing in that hole. The replacement metal bushing fit loosely in that spring, which I did not like. Hopefully your trailer doesn't have that problem.

Just had the install completed. Did anyone else have to add spacers to the fenders due to losing about 3/4" of spacing? My tires are literally 1 mm from the fenders now.

I did not experience a change in tire clearance after this upgrade. The dexter shackles were the same length as the existing shackles and the vertical height of the new equalizer was the same as the old equalizer. Can you determine what specific parts caused you to lose clearance?

I'll look over the parts and see what is different. I will say that with only 6000 miles of towing the stock shackles were already ovaling.

That's messed up, I got the 33" on center kit which my axles are.

Joliet Suspension off Larkin did the work.

Ok maybe I’ll reach out to them. I had a bad encounter with them in the past they tried to charge me 3x the price on a install compared to others. Also hate to do all this them destroy my tires trying to get home if it squats

After they did it they called me to say the clearance was decreased and they wouldn't let me take it until something was done so I told them to raise the fender. I am not sure of the charge since I still don't have my boat. Went there because they were recommended to me by 2 people. Are you trying the k71-653 equalizer?

K7165200 which everyone recommends on here and facebook. It’s at dc marine he said he never installed this kit but has changed parts all the time
