Oneida is locked up and people are running machines on it. It'll open up around the rivers and creeks but with night temps in the teens here the next few days, you won't be mapping Oneida next week from a boat

Sure you can come up and do some mapping but it won’t be in a boat there’s snomowbiles and ATVs all over the lake. My guess is t’ll be 4-6 weeks Before Oneida is ice free. It might’ve been a warm winter in NY, but there’s still 12-18” of ice on almost every lake in the state. We need daytime temps of upper 40s-50s and the lows can’t get below freezing to really get the ice melting. With the forecasted low temps, any ice that melts will just freeze overnight

Mapping in PA. Even I'm not dense enough to ride to NY to do some mapping this time of year.

I'm gearing up now for the hudson. Gonna spend a lot of time there in may. All I really care about. Ice out on otsego should be about 5 weeks away. I'll probably go to canadarago for some disappointing fishing. maybe a day trip to champlain.
Really want to get the rubber boat on some smaller places this year. If I only had a lithium battery to try...
