8612 vs GPS1222 for Livescope Only

Have had my GPS1222 Unit for a few months now. Really having fun with Livescope. Anyone consider upgraded to the 8612 unit for just a dedicated Livescope unit? Is the upgrade worth it with screen resolution, picture, and details? Thoughts?

No complaints with my 8612 which is dedicated to LS. Have not used the 1222.

From what i see, there isn't an improvement in the Livescope between the 8612 and the 1222. The transducer can only send so much info to the graph. SI and DI are where the improvement shows up in the graph upgrade

If you pull the trigger, let me know how it compares. I'm running a 1222 and have considered the upgrade myself

I've seen both and there is a difference. I went from a 1242 to 8612 and I'm not sure I would do it again. There are times I miss the simplicity of the 1242.

There is definitely a difference. I was using a 1242, sold it and put an 8610 in its place which that unit has the best resolution out of all due to screen size and pixel count. The detail and images were a major improvement. Go with the 8610 and save yourself $1600 unless you find a smokin deal on an 8612. If my AT doesn’t perform like i am expecting them I will be going back to an 8610/LS setup.
