    200 sho making oil help

I purchased a 200 SHO used with the hours listed below:
    Engine speed Time[h]
    - 1000 r/min 14
    1000 - 2000 r/min 2.7
    2000 - 3000 r/min 0.7
    3000 - 4000 r/min 2.1
    4000 - 5000 r/min 3
    5000 - 6000 r/min 0
    6000 - 7000 r/min 0
    Engine hours 22

The most recent diagnostic hours are:
    Engine speed Time[h]
    - 1000 r/min 25.7
    1000 - 2000 r/min 6.3
    2000 - 3000 r/min 1.4
    3000 - 4000 r/min 6.7
    4000 - 5000 r/min 9.3
    5000 - 6000 r/min 0.2
    6000 - 7000 r/min 0
    Total hours of operation 49

The engine is still making oil at 50 hours. I have read numerous articles that states that I should run the engine at 6000 rpms for at least a continuous hour to get the engine to heat up enough to seat the rings. Today the average water temperature is in the low 60's in my area. Is it possible to run this engine hard enough in 60 degree water to develop enough heat to seat the rings or do I need thermostats that are above the stock engine thermostats. If I need higher temperature thermostats can someone provide the Yamaha part number. Is there any other solutions to seat the rings.

Thanks for all and any replies.

60 degree water is warm enough. I did it in 42 degree water. I borrowed a lower pitch prop so I could turn 6000 rpm’s but not have to be going 70 mph. I ran it for an hour and a half. Doing that along with installing a properly pitched prop so my SHO would turn 6000 rpm under normal conditions stopped my oil making problem.

Lots of debate on WOT or high rpms or just running under a load for a long at 4 or 5 k. With the hours you have. I would run it as long as possible at 4 to 5 K, I wouldn't even trim it to much. The toons, coastal boats, and boats that don't run WOT don't have the issues that bass rigs do. They run longer periods under a load at a lower RPM. And stay together, very few problems with oil or blowing up! So says Yamaha mechanics! IMO.

Almost 0 run time even over 5000 rpms. That motor needs run, change the oil and trim it high. Mine was making oil up through about hour 13 until I just ran the guts out of it for a few times out. Hasn’t made any oil in over 2 years since
