Jackplate and Power Pole Questions on 05 185VS

    Guys,

Been a while since i posted. I have a 2005 185vs with 150 Yamaha (carb). I am thinking about spending some money on my boat. First step will be jackplate and a power pole (just 1). My hull warranty (10 yr) has expired and i know that is dependent on a jackplate of max 6". My question is......Do i need to be concerned adding a jackplate and power pole to this boat? Have transoms been redesigned in later years for power poles (weight added)? Also, will the PP jackplate bracket mount to a 6" jackplate or do i need a larger JP?

What JP recommendations do you guys have? I am going with manual JP. I know Bob's makes one but i only see hydraulic models from T&H Marine.

    Thanks,

    Jason

Put a six inch and poles on it and run it. That boat will handle it
