A friend of mine ordered a new 115hp 4 stroke short shaft before Thanksgiving from BPS and was told at that time delivery would be end of December. Since that time they have moved delivery a couple of times now saying "maybe" sometime in May, is Merc that far behind? I'm sure the Covid Convenient excuse is in play all down the chain.
Anyone know of a dealer that has any pull or possibly one in stock? All cash deal he is looking for.

There are a couple of different engine models that might fall in that description, assuming it's actually an "L" (long/20") shaft.
At this time, ALL of them are on backorder (or more accurately, build to order) status. I do know that the mid-range engines seem to be further behind than the larger (V6-V8) models.
