    Upgrading and Questions

The short version is I am updating some gear in the boat within the next month or so as soon as everything arrives. I think I have it right but still have a question or two. So here it goes.

Currently running 2 Gen 3 HB units. SI at the console and DI with Mega 360 on the bow. Both units linked via an ethernet cable.

I am adding a Gen 4 Helix 15 at the console. Moving the SI to the bow. I have purchased a 5 port ethernet box and the appropriate cables and adaptors.

I am removing the lead acid batteries and have gone with lithium's on a power pole charge. All of which will be on a SeaClear power line.

When the Mega Live transducer comes out I want to include that into the SI unit I am moving to the front.

    My questions are these:

    1) Will all 3 units be linkable through the ethernet box?

    2) The Mega Live states it is connected via ethernet, but if that is the case, then am I missing something? I thought there was only one ethernet connection on the back?

    3) If that is the case, is there an ethernet splitter available?

    1. There is no other way to have more than two Ethernet devices connected.

    2. See above=it will have to connect to the Ethernet Switch also.

    3. No

If you get APEX units, they have two Ethernet ports.

So, if I understand your answers correctly, if I add the Mega Live to my proposed set-up there is no way to link all three units due to a lack of ethernet availability. Is that correct?

If that's the case, then whatever unit I attach the Mega Live transducer to will be a stand alone unit?

    No.

Your third paragraph states you are getting a "5 port ethernet box".

The AS ETH 5PXG Ethernet Switch has 5 Ethernet ports.

With three displays and MEGA LIVE that is four Ethernet connections to connect to the Switch.
