Have your merc tech hook it up to make sure you're getting 100% throttle.

1 person and light gear should crack mid 70's with little effort unless the prop is an absolute dud

Wow, Im running at 3.5 on my Bobs with a 27 Fury...I guess maybe its the diff in a 2 stroke vs 4 ...With a 28.5 Bravo I run it on 3.25. But I also have 2-12Ft Talons so that may be another reason I run mine higher....

I can run mine higher but doesn't gain any speed I've tried a 24 tempest plus and it didn't run any better than the fury now I did keep a trophy plus 4 blade from my old boat and I'll have to say it made the boat handle better over all but didn't run as fast and rpms were not as good so went back to fury also I've got two 8 ft blades

Fury doesnt like to be ran high. with two loaded in the cool air should be mid 70's. like Wackyjig said, I would have the throttle checked.
