Ford F-150 with the 2.7 ecoboost 10 speed transmission.

Those who have this truck, engine, transmission combination, are you happy with it? How happy are you with the towing? Do you feel it is a durable package for owning 10+ years and 150,000 + miles? I plan on towing my 20’11” bass boat with it and usually keep my vehicles for 10 years or more. Also what gas mileage should I expect for daily driving as well as towing?

I am sure it has been discussed before I just want to get some fresh up to date experiences from owners.

i drove several while hunting my new one. The 2.7 was definitely impressive however i just couldn't pull the trigger on em.
I went with another 3.5 mainly because my last one was the 3.5 and it was a beast so i figured why mess with a good thing.
Plus this truck was equipped exactly like i wanted it.. I know 2 friends with the 2.7 and they love em. I am sure they are just fine but a couple more MPG just wasn't enuff for me to switch from what i know for fact is awesome..

I have a 2019 that I bought used last June. I am just pulling a tin rig so I can't speak for a large glass boat, but it pulls and stops mine easily. I get 19 mpg every day and 14 mpg towing. I would think my truck will last 10 years, but who knows.

I'm happy with my 2018. I average 18.5 mpg. I tow a 2 horse trailer that weighs around 6500 pounds with the horses in it. I think it tows better than any 5.4 I've had. As far as durability I don't know. I get a new truck every 3 years.

I have a 2.7 eb 2019 as well, I pull a 18.5 ft ranger without an issue at all. The 2.7 will pull your 20ft bass rig fine but the 3.5 eb is a better option. I do pull my buddies 20ft lund from time to time and it pulls that rig just fine and it’s not light. Love the f150 it’s my second 2.7 also had first gen 3.5 and was great as well. The only issue the f150’s are getting extremely expensive, few buddies just picked up the new chevy for amazing deal... I may be switching to a Chevy for next truck.

I have had two 2.7 and two 3.5 and towed 21 foot glass boats with both. No issue whatsoever with each. Gas mileage was only different without the boat. The 2.7 had to shift more with the boat and got the same 13 or so MPG while towing.

Daily driving the 2.7 was 2-3 MPG better than the 3.5.

I had a 2019 2.7 and it towed great, did multiple tows of a Ranger R61 on 4 hour tows going up the mountains where there are tractor trailer runoffs with no issue. My friend who owns the boat used to tow with a F150 with the 5.4 Triton and had to rev up to around 5k to make it up. The 2.7 hit about 2,300 rpm and just kept going.

Regular driving I was around 20 to 21mpg, towing anywhere from 11 to 13mpg.

I've got a 2019 2.7 10 speed. Tows my Pantera 2 just fine. I want to say it gets about 14mpg towing it but I honestly haven't paid attention.

Drive a 2019 2.7 work truck. Hwy 24, everyday (depends on me) 19, in town 18 to 19. Boat pulling depends on speed, 12 to 15 with my boat. Pulls a boat no problem. I've pulled up to about 9,000 lbs. Don't about the 150k miles. It should the 3.5's do that and more routinely.

I don’t have a new truck with the 2.7, but I do have a 10yr old truck with the 3.5L eco boost.

Truck has 153K or so, and has been part of multiple recalls. It never left me stranded, but the last problem could’ve resulted in catastrophe (unexpected downshifts to 1st gear - at ANY speed). Ford dealer let me down. Ford Customer Care let me down. This truck is my last Ford product.

I've seen that before, but don't much stock in it. When you work on stuff, you prefer the easiest to work on, the frequency you work on that same one is even better.

What gear ratio do you guys have? I've been looking at used trucks and seems most are 3:31.

I have a 2019 F-150 with the spec's you are asking about it it has handled my Z19 Sport perfectly. I can hardly tell it is back there when towing. I know when we bought it, I was concerned a bit, but overall it has been awesome. If I was a pro and towed the boat all over the country, or used it primarily for trailering I may have gotten the next engine up, but for my use of towing about once a week it has been great. We take a few trips to northern MN and WI with it and the boat and she has worked perfect without any issues for the last 1.5 years.

2018 2.7 here. Towed from Arkansas to GA on a tank and a half of gas on ECO mode. No problems at all!
