Manitowish Chain of 10 Lakes Info?
All,
I just booked our families annual Wisconsin Summer Trip with my Wife's brother's family! It's always a good time, fishing, wake boarding/tubing and drinking by a fire.
This year we are trying out the Manitowish Chain and are renting a house for the week of 4th of July.
Any fishing reports from past summers on the lakes? Looks to be a bunch of good looking lakes! I am getting excited for Summer!

Nobody been to these lakes?

Lakes will be crazy busy if weather permits.
Go early in the morning if you want to enjoy fishing.
There are fireworks...be safe afterwards if you're on the water.
What lake will you be staying on?

We are staying right in the middle on Spider Lake. Should be fun exploring etc as I have never been up to this chain of lakes!

Mind the no wake zones, especially around Greer's Pier & between Rest & Stone lakes.
The popo is always about, I'm sure especially the week of the 4th.
We like the YMCA beach on Fox island (Rest Lake). There's one on the east end of Little Star as well.
There are some small quiet sandy areas on the north end of Alder, we generally tube there.
Have fun, it's a great chain!

KDGRILLS,
Thanks for the pointers! We have 4 adults and 4 kids, so swimming and wakeboarding etc are on the agenda everyday when it is decent weather.
Excited for the summer as it is finally warming up a bit here in the Twin Cities.
Thanks!

As far as fishing, I'm generally chasing muskies.
A few areas I've frequented, off the top of my head, in no particular order...
There's a big rock bar that runs the length of Clear lake. Weedy humps in Alder.
Rock bars on Manitowish as well as a nice weedy bay, at the inlet to Little Star.
Weedy bay at the south end of Rest lake. Deep break lines on the north end of Rest.
Weedy / stumpy bay at the YMCA camp.

Now I just need to remember to come back to this post before the July vacation!

Where's the best place to launch? We go up every year and stay in Mercer. Looking to fish the chain this year.

Depends on where you want to fish, I suppose.
I've only ever put in at Greer's pier on Spider lake, I think it's ~$10. It can get quite busy.
There's a public ramp on the north end of Rest lake, it looks very nice.
There's a smaller public ramp on Clear lake.
I'm sure there are others, those come to mind.
