    Need your opinion

Found out that my pro xs has a verado lower. Would it be a good idea to add a nose cone? I purchased a sport master case and fat shaft. I was thinking that it was a torque master but after talking to don he said it’s a verado and not able to swap the guts. So what’s your thoughts.

If you are running in the 80's, you need a sportsmaster.

It’s going to depend on who does your cone work.
I had a 300HPDI (Yamaha) stock with except for lower unit.
it ran in upper 90’s easily.
But it was not just a nose cone it was a total rework of lower unit.

Who is a good person to have a cone done? Trying to figure best way to handle this if it’s better and cheeper to cone the verado or purchase a used lower or buy everything for the sporty I have now. Just seeing what you pros think. I new to this stroker thing and want be able to get the most performance out of it.

I would sell your gear case and buy a sportmaster personally. That is if your wanting to get the performance out of your rig. Do you happen to know what gears yours has?

The verado I am not positive but it will turn a 28p bravo I am guessing 1:62. The empty sporty is stamped 1:62. What is a verado lower worth?

I would keep that other gear case as a backup just in case

A 250 will push you into the mid 90's. Sportsmaster a must and 1.62 gear will make it easier to prop. 28 pitch will work well for average use (fishing). A 30 will give you better top end. Also recommend about 16 inch of setback.

I run Performer props and have had good luck with them. Bravo 1 works well also especially as a fishing prop.

    Good luck finding a Sportsmaster.

I think you mean swept skeg. It has a slight bend at the rear to the driver side to reduce steering torque. Dual motor applications use a straight skeg, which you don't want for a bass boat.

A straight skeg will blow out in the mid 80's. No personel experience but grand basser (Scott) had a sporty with a straight skeg and has lots of blow out experience. Same thing with a coned torque master with a full load and TM up front. He is running one of my sportmasters and has run over 100 with a stock 250xb.

Ron ,a swept Skeg is what you want. The Allison mods from what I have been told cut the skeg down in size. Stroker needs the large Skeg as we run the motors much higher than the Allisons.
