DNR says Fish Kill Is Common

Just got an email from the DNR saying that fish kill is common during the spring thaw

    Do they know something?

As far as I know they have never sent out info like this in the past I’m wondering if they have some knowledge they aren’t sharing or they are just expecting a large kill this spring due to weather?

With the late ice I wouldn't think there would be much. Union Lake didn't freeze until early January. Maybe some of the smaller lakes.
