    New Electronic mount for Bow

I noticed most of the Bass Cat guys on MLF running what appears to be a new mount for electronics that covers part of the recessed area up front. Anyone know what mount or cover this is? Hank Cherry has it also.

That is the BBT style. Iaconelli has the Precision Sonar, some have Geiger Tech and Bass Cat posted their BalZout dual base yesterday on Facebook pics.

The BBT a is VERY heavy on the bow.

I may try the balz out on my next boat. If not I’ll use the bbt 4” mount

Andrew Upshaw posted a walkthrough video on YouTube about his 2021 Eyra. That mount and the polycarbonate floor material he has caught my eye. Even he said the mount is very heavy.

I own a 6 inch Bbt mount. The precision mount to me looks almost identical. On a side note i have "heard" of a few developing stress cracks in the recessed area on boats that run rough water often. I have only seen one though with these cracks. Mine has none and probably wont due to the rough water aspect. Leads me to believe if this newer style is to help prevent this?

I ran my Lynx for 2 years with the BBT Dual mount with a 12" HDS and a 10" Garmin in about as rough water as you can run a bassboat in, no stress cracks at all. I think it's about countersinking the holes and using the BBT backing plate.

I agree with the countersink. I did see the one and that guy said he had seen a few others. So when i seen the newer mount it got me to thinking

Make sure all bolts are tight. I have seen stress cracks develop when something isn't equally tightened.
