Seen a video saying the built in transducer doesn’t give as good of read outs as what each manufacturer’s down imaging transducer gives. Kind of a one size fits all deal. Just buy this cable that connects with your unit of choice; but I could be wrong. Somebody with more knowledge on this can correct me if I’m wrong. That’s seems to be the reason for multiple graphs; one does something better than the other.

Foot pedal sucked on the Ulterra for me. Didn't like it at all. Have the Ultrex now.

Really anything other than fishing and I am not paying that much attention as to where I am floating too.
But it sure is nice to just push a button and stay at that spot when I am around docks or when I want to stay at that certain spot on the water to fish slowly.
You had me at re-tying - especially 'cause it takes me 3x as long these days (I mean re-tying, of course).

I had a Terrova on my last boat. The Spot Lock works great for many things, but fishing docks is a challenge with one. If your trying to parallel your boat with the docks, or shore with the wind blowing in, the motor will keep correcting to pull the nose of the boat into the wind.

I picked up a Terrova brand new in the box from some guy who bought it, never installed it and it sat
in his garage for a year. $1100. I did say thank you.

I’m sorry but those Ulterras and Terrovas just look so ugly on bass boats to me

I can adjust to a trolling motor looking a little odd but for me nothing looks uglier than power poles on a bass boat. First time I saw some was waiting to put in at Falcon. I remember asking my son wth are them things sticking up on the back of that boat. He just laughed and shook his head and said I guess I can forget about putting them on ours.

I was always a power pole guy, but with the winds this winter in Florida and my new found love of cranking I can definitely wee how the spot lock would be an amazing upgrade! But, I want a new boat so I have to wait....which isn't in my nature!

Get what helps you fish your way! I figure by the time I get a new boat these trolling motors will be at least $200 cheaper!

The pros in my estimation would seldom ever need a spot lock.
The make a long cast, then w/the TM on high run to that bait, never fishing
but maybe a third of that cast length. Maybe there is a point to this style of fishing
that I'm missing. Their term of covering water is different than mine.
