Barton creek ramp at Falls Lake open or closed...

Figure it is probably closed but wanted to ask if anyone has been or seen different. Thanks, Michael

This looks to be to date and it does not list Barton's as closed. It does have some like Farrington (on Jordan) listed as closed to flooding which is correct.

I bet you could call Outhouse Tackle (It is right down the road From the ramp) and they could tell you. Great folks I bet would be happy to help also. (919) 847-1222

It is open - but solo launch will take a little extra work as the water has jacked up the ramps.

To the guy who mentioned Vertigo. May I please comment to you. 4 years ago it hit me like a brick. I went to the ER 3 times in 2 months. Finally their meds stopped working. I was in the hospital in Atlanta for 3 weeks. I had to crawl to the bathroom and I’d fall over crawling it was so bad. They called in 2 different specialist to come look at me. Finally with no solution they came to me and asked if I’d be willing to stay a cpl days longer so a specialist from India was coming to Atlanta for some type of class. I excepted the offer. After 3 hours of test in the ENT office at the hospital the Dr said i got a solution but you may or may not like it. He asked me if I ever smoked pot and I said no sir not in my 50 years of living I have never smoked period and only drank socially. He proceeded to say if this works and I believe it will, you will be healed in less than an hour. He says if it will works you will know in 20 minutes up to 1 hour. He said I believe your ringing in your ears May last forever though. Let’s just say 4 years later my ears have NOT stopped Ringing. Sometimes they get louder but I can deal with it thank god. But he said I’d like you to try pot. Not the type you have to roll. I’d like to ask you to try vape. If it works and I believe it will it will take less than 30 minutes up to 1 hour tops to know. He said it is against America policy to recommend that but it is not against drs rights to tell clients what can help. Well after we landed I went to the source dispensary in Las Vegas and bought a vape pen. All I can say is you all can say what you wish about me. I felt it hit me and 1 hour later as I was coming down and I could fell the vertigo leaving me. That was 4 years ago now. I take 3 hits at night as the dr recommended. It saved my life. I was so against it growing up I told my kids at 15 to get the F out of my house as they was smoking. They have forgiven me and I’m proof it works and I just wanted to express what happened to me. I called my life insurance agent back in Mo and told him I was going to kill myself if it didn’t work. I paid for 15 years for $500,000 coverage and he said since I had it longer than 2 years that they would cover it in full but begged me not to kill myself. Bottom line sir it saved my life. I was killing myself in Vegas and 2,000 of my fb friends knew it. I never stopped spinning until I took 3 hits of vape and I felt it hit me. But when I felt it leave me I cried and thanked god. That is my story and I’d mention this to your ent Dr.

Access to the ramp docks goes underwater at lake levels above 258.0 ft; the current level is 260.9 so bring a partner or hip boots.

Here’s a site to track lake level: https://waterdata.usgs.gov/nc/nwis/u...ate=2016-10-15

Your welcome. It was a bad time in life for me. But it saved my life and some people who know me still can’t believe I hit vape 3 times an evening. I love to tell people what happened in my life. It’s something that saved me. I’m the lucky person.

Thanks for the advice there Eddie. I do not have vertigo on a regular basis, i hope anyway. First time ever was at work walking across floor and all of a sudden i was trying to catch myself on something as i was falling. Lasted only a few minutes and no one saw it so i just kept it to myself. That was probably somewhere around 1990. I have had 5-6 episodes since i retired in 2011 and usually comes with tilting my head to look at something or climbing up under the car/truck to change the oil or maybe even changing a lightbulb in the ceiling fan. Never stayed sick for more than a week at the most except once where it lasted almost 3 weeks and finally went to the doc. They found nothing and gave me the motion sickness pills. Sure glad i never had it deer hunting from 30-40' up a tree in a Cadillac tree stand. Last time before now was when i tried on a pair of Costa perscription sunglasses at the eye doctor's office and immediately got sick as hell and fell out of the chair. Needless to say the glasses were way off in the perscription. That lasted 7 days and happened last year. If it comes again in the near future i may give it a shot. I have a older friend i worked with at the plant and his wife has the worst cases i have ever seen. She had it once for almost 4 months. I would have never survived that. I will add this episode started when i leaned up in the passenger car seat to look in the side pocket of the door for napkins. Thank God my wife was driving as were on the interstate. Thanks again for the advice. Michael

Your welcome sir. It’s was so hard for me to admit for awhile but after a month of getting sick daily ALL DAY LONG, we had to do something. Then that long in the hospital. I look back and wonder how I made it. I just hope I was able to help you in the long run. I was hard headed. Kinda like I seen the lights.

    Good luck fishing sir,
    Eddie
