1998 champion Elite 190 Frozen Live Well Handle and Aerator Won’t 2

The lever that allows a person to open or close the fish holding tank on my 1998 Champion Elite 190 is frozen. Handle and cable won't move either way
Lever is located below throttle handle.
Also the aerator pump won't work.
Does anyone know if I must pull the fuel tank and oil tank (Its a 2 stroke engine) to repair these items?
    Thanks,
    Don Schrock

Don, if you have the U shaped tank, there is a cover under the batteries, oil tank and charger. You'll have to remove them to get to it.

    TX Champ,
Do you know if I can get to the holding tank cable thru the same opening to free it up?
Plan on diving into this bilge this weekend.
    Thx,
    Don

Yes, the valve will be there with the pumps. You can pull the arm on the valve and see if it frees the cable up. My guess is not. My cable had worked its way under my fuel tank and got mashed.

    thank you again .
I keep my boat on a lift at lake.
the lift failed a couple years ago and water filled the whole back area. Shorted all the batts and ruined all the connectors.
Could be the reason why these items located under there are not working.
I had not been using live well at all. My son did last fall. That’s when we found nothing working.
So appreciate you taking the time to respond .

Tx Champ , Take a look at this photo please.
Are those actuators beside the pumps? Any idea what kind of pumps etc replace these?
Did get to the live well actuator. Decided to order new one and new cable.

Not Reggie, but those are Mayfair cartridge pumps so you only replace the motors. The other two look like transducer pucks.

ChampioNman is right. The pumps are Mayfair, the cartridges are now by Johnson Pump. The two little round black thingies are Lowrance 2D transducers. Guessing you may have a flasher in the dash. That's about the only reason you'd have two next to each other. Or if they are 83/200 KHz transducers, one could be operating at one freq and the other on the other freq. Two that close on the same frequency will interfere with each other.

    A couple more questions:
Are all 3 pumps the same GPH?
The one mounted on the live well is 750GPH. I can't read the others.

How are they attached to the bottom etc? Is it epoxy or some type of silicone?
Naturally the one I cannot get to work is the one mounted sideways so I cannot take the cartridge out. It is the Fill pump attached to the rear of the boat.
Was able to get the the valve working by taking it all apart ,filing it, and greasing it.
Got 2 of the 3 pumps working. Took them apart and cleaned well.
Thank you all so much for your help

The thru hull live well fill is silicone sealed to the hull but you should have enough to flip the lever on the housing and pull the pump. Yep more than likely they are all 750's. Tip to make it easier when you replace them, use bullet connectors on both sides. I like to use male bullets on the brown wire and female on the ground wire. then reverse on the pump makes for a quick connect instead of using crimp connectors especially when you are standing on your head.

I have to be honest and just my opinion, when bilge diving especially at my age, I'm replacing as many things that seem like they have some years on them. My livewell actuator barely moves and this Spring I'm replacing the actuator cable and valve with a Flow Rite. They make a fitting to adapt from the TH Marine design to the Flow rite. https://store.flow-rite.com/products...rs-cables.html Too many times I've taken the dive in different boats I've had, only to find a month down the road, a livewell pump fitting or hose has cracked. Now if it has to come apart, and within reason, it all gets changed.

One tip Reggie and I forgot to mention, take the rear deck lid off and lay across the back deck instead of leaning over the gunwale makes life better.
