    2006 21i Setup Questions

I just bought an 06 21i/06 250HPDI with about 60 hours on new powerhead, and a brand new lower unit. Don't know what the P2P is. Best its gone is 65 at 5700-5800 RPMs. Running a 25T1 and around 4000' elevation. It has wedges on the jack plate. I'm to understand these are for the hole shot... If hammered down, prop will blow out as the boat breaks over onto plane. Have to ease into the throttle. Would like some input/recommendations for what to do. I think, but am not sure, that it needs a bigger pitch to keep from blowing out when hammered down, and also the motor needs to be raised in order to get max RPM. Please correct me if I am wrong. Also, wondering if I actually need the wedges. Please help a fella out. Remember that I'm around 4000' Elevation, as I know that makes a substantial difference. Thank you

Sounds like motor is too high. Try moving it down 1 notch.

Does sound like it's too high if it's blowing out. At that elevation, you'll need to go down in pitch. I'd try a 23 Tempest.
