Ceramic Coating

Hi , Has anyone applied ceramic coating to their cobra boat? I have wet sanded the gel coat, then compounded, polished and waxed the entire boat. The gel coat sure looks new, like I first bought it 12 years ago. Wondering if I should apply a ceramic coating now. I have seen it done before but how long does it last, any issues to be aware of? Anyone have any experience doing it? Any suggestions would be great, thanks

There are lots of threads on this on the bass boat restorations forum. But I’ll tell you that I haven’t done a boat yet, but I’ve done lots of vehicles with ceramic coating now, and you do not apply it on top of wax. If you decide to do it, it would be best to strip the wax off your boat, polish again, then apply the ceramic. Having said that, I will be doing my boat this spring.

Thanks for the reply. I may just leave the boat for now and later in spring /summer strip the wax and have a go at it. What kind of ceramic coating would you suggest? thanks
