i am looking at the Vexus 189s and 1880s. If you have either, what kind of speed are you getting with a 115? Likes, dislikes or things you wish you had gotten when you purchased? thanks for any help.

1880 with Merc 4 115.
Max speed has been like 49.X MPH GPS. No jackplate.
After I installed my transducer along the pad hull center line area. I'm hitting only 48 MPH or so.
Now this is top speed and tweaking the trim until I get it just right without running into any waves.
Whatever you get, make sure you get the trailer step. That's my favorite option on the boat package.
good info, thanks
I have owned the AVX1880 for 1.5 years now. The highest I have gotten gps, was 49, touched 50 for a moment, since then my top end is 47-48. I have never had the transducer issues many have mentioned. Tips I can provide, if you want to maintain your trailer, I highly recommend you reading the fender thread on this board. Hell, I have even considered wrapping my boat after reading that thread. The paint will chip, do NOT let anyone fool you other wise.

I love my 1880. I've run it up to 50.3 a few times solo and had a little more trim left. It'll run 48+ with me and my fishing buddy and all our gear. I'm around 240 and he probably pushes 300. I had a problem losing bottom depth on my console graph at around 10mph. Made some tweaks to the transom transducer and now it'll read till at least 40mph. Kinda wish it had port side rod storage instead of just center rod storage(or possibly I just have too many rods laying out on the deck!). If there are other folks at the launch ramp you can guarantee that they'll want to come check the boat out and are shocked to find out it's a tin boat.

If you can afford the 1880 get it. There is no comparison in storage, layout, and performance. They are both equally well built and the quality is there in both.

I have a 2021 1880. Zero trailer issues. I run my boat at 3000 ft elevation and get 48 mph with me and 1/2 tank of fuel. At Sea level it would be 50 mph. Love the boat. I would rather have my rods in a side box rather than the middle. I like my tackle down the middle. So My tackle storage is behind the seats. The Mercury 115 runs a like a sewing machine. No complaints! I get lots of attention at the ramp.
