    Sealing compartments

I have a need to make all of my boat compartments watertight. All the rubber gaskets have come off or deteriorated and even a fog can get water in a rod locker. Is there a cheap diy idea I could use to waterproof these compartments?

I have some leftover weather seal. It's 3/8" high, 5/8" wide and the kind that slips over the fg edge. I'll sell it cheap. I think I have about 30' or so. Dan. 928-205-8835.
